More than 40 Navy ships take part in naval parade in Far Eastern Vladivostok

The hospital ship The Baltic Fleet Perekop, the coast guard ship Komandor and other vessels lined up for the parade in the Amur Bay

VLADIVOSTOK, July 29. /TASS/. More than 40 warships and support vessels took part on Sunday in a naval parade marking Russia’s Navy Day in the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok, the main naval base of the Russian Pacific Fleet, fleet’s Spokesperson Nikolai Voskresensky told TASS.

"About 40 warships, boats, submarines and support vessels, more than 20 units of military hardware of coastal defense troops and more than 1,500 Pacific Fleet military took part," said Captain II Rank Voskresensky.

The flagship of the Pacific Fleet, missile cruiser Varyag, the large antisubmarine warfare ship Admiral Panteleyev, the destroyer Bystryi, the hospital ship Irtysh, the drill ship of the Baltic Fleet Perekop, the coast guard ship Komandor and other vessels lined up for the parade in the Amur Bay.

After the main program, including a performance featuring the main stages in the development of the Pacific Fleet’s main naval base and a performance with the participation of warships, celebrations spilled over to the city embankments and parks, where concerts take place. Ending the celebrations, fireworks will light up the night skies of Vladivostok.
