Emergencies minister arrives in Amur Oblast to control restoration efforts in flood aftermath

The computers will be delivered by the EMERCOM plane on which the minister arrived

BLAGOVESCHENSK, October 15 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Puchkov has arrived in the floods-stricken Amur Oblast. Spokeswoman for the Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) Irina Rossius told Itar-Tass that the minister would supervise the work of the ministry’s emergency and rescue teams that are cleaning up the territory, household plots and providing targeted assistance to the flood victims.

“The emergencies minister fly over the affected villages and speak to the local residents, farmers and present a rural educational institution with a computer classroom,” said Rossius.

The computers will be delivered by the EMERCOM plane on which the minister arrived. The special has also delivered more than 220 heat guns for drying houses.

In Blagoveshchensk, the emergencies minister will take part in a field meeting of the government commission on flood relief in the Far East, which will be chaired by RF vice-premier - presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
