MOSCOW, June 9 (Itar-Tass) -Twenty-seven cars were stuck in Yakutia on the Kolyma highway running through Russia’s Far East, where heavy rains washed out two road sections, the Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
“In the area close to the village of Megino-Aldan 27 cars with 88 people inside, including six children, were stuck,” the source said.
Temporary accommodation units were opened for drivers and passengers. They housed 61 people. Other 27 people remain in their cars.
Maintenance crews plan to liquidate washouts on June 10.
