MOSCOW, March 24 (Itar-Tass) – Returning to Russia was Boris Berezovsky’s biggest dream. The tycoon died in his home in a London outskirt on Saturday. In this connection, the Forbes magazine has published extracts from the last interview with Berezovsky at its website.

In his interview, Berezovsky told Forbes that he had always wanted to return to Russia even when criminal proceedings were initiated against him. He said he had underestimated what Russian meant to him. He understood that he could not be an emigrant.

According to Berezovsky, he changed many of his previous views and assessments. He admitted he had been idealistic about the possibility of building democracy in Russia and was no less idealistic in his vision of democracy in the heart of Europe. He said he had changed his vision of Russia’s way and shouldn’t have left Russia at all.

The former businessmen said that he was 67 and he had lost the meaning of life. He was no longer interested in politics. However, as the Forbes correspondent writes, Berezovsky said he wished to return to science and carry out his scientific work in Russia. Berezovsky was once a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
