MOSCOW, September 29 (Itar-Tass) —— The fire at the plant in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (Yugra) is extinguished, the Emergencies Ministry's regional department told Itar-Tass.

The fire alarm signal was received at about 09:00 Moscow time.

According to the preliminary information, an explosion occurred in the oil sludge processing shop. It caused a fire. Eight workers were found dead when the fire was fought. Other eight people with injuries are taken to the region's central clinic in Khanty-Mansiisk, a source at the Russian Investigative Committee (SK) said.

A group of investigators, including SK experts, went to the site to establish the causes of the fire.
