TBILISI, February 5 (Itar-Tass) - The Georgian government will continue the process to return relations with Russia to normal, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said on Tuesday.

"The government has already taken the first steps to normalize relations with the RF, and the process will be continued," he noted at the press conference in Tbilisi.

According to him, it is the most important objective of Georgia.

Positive impetuses are already seen in the process, though it is clear that it is impossible to normalize relations fast. It will take time. But the process has begun, and it is good, Ivanishvili said.

Meanwhile, talks began in Moscow on Monday between a Georgian delegation and Russian officials to return Georgian products to the Russian market. The delegation is planned to meet with chief of Rospotrebnadzor (the federal agency for consumer rights protection and public health control) Gennady Onishchenko. Georgia waited for this since 2006, when Rospotrebnadzor stated that the quality of drinks and farm products imported from the country did not meet the Russian standards and the Russian market was closed for Georgia. The unilateral break of trade relations coincided with a spiral of political tension between Moscow and Tbilisi.
