MOSCOW, December 20 (Itar-Tass) — One people died and nine people were injured during a fire at a building in the Moscow region, the regional emergency response department told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
The fire occurred in the village of Mashkovo, Lubertsy district, in a two-storey building, which was covered with plastic, on Wednesday, December 19. “Two thirds of the building was used as a warehouse while people lived in the other part of the building,” the emergency department said.
“One people died and nine were hospitalised. According to preliminary information, no missing people were reported,” the press service said.
“The warehouse’s workers themselves made attempts to put out the fire. When the first fire-fighting units arrived on the spot the second storey and the roof were on fire at the total area of 800 square metres,” the press service said.
The causes of the fire are being determined.
