KIEV, October 28 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine’s ruling Party of Regions has announced that its website was blocked over mass hacker attacks.

According to the party, attacks of “information terrorists” are targeted at “restricting the right of the party’s supporters and journalists to access the trustworthy and competent information about the parliamentary elections.”

The party’s press service said such actions restrict the rights of Internet users and violate constitutional rights.

“At this moment we are taking efforts to resolve the existing problems. However, DDos attacks may disrupt the website’s normal work for some time,” the press service said.

Earlier one of the candidates in the election race Anatoly Gritsenko announced that hackers made such attacks on websites of the opposition.

“Hackers attacked my website as well as websites of Yulia Timoshenko, Alexander Turchinov and Arseny Yatsenyuk,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Gritsenko blamed the incumbent authorities of the attacks. “Probably, the authorities decided to add to frauds computer games with the websites of opposition members,” he said.
