UNITED NATIONS, September 26 (Itar-Tass) — Lakhdar Brahimi, UN/LAS special representative for a settlement of the conflict in Syria, has expressed interest in maintaining contacts with Moscow, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and presidential special representative for the Middle East, said here Tuesday at the close of Mr. Brahimi's meeting with Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov.
Bogdanov pointed out, "He (Brahimi) expressed a very high interest in maintaining contacts, very active ones, with Moscow, with the Russian side".
According to Bogdanov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that "Moscow is ready to receive Mr. Brahimi at any time of his convenience".
