Puchkov said the cooperation between EMERCOM and the EU had achieved a new level

MOSCOW, September 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The new base agreement between Russia and the European Union will contain a chapter on emergency situations, Head of Russia’s EMERCOM Vladimir Puchkov said during a meeting with Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva.

“Russia’s EMERCOM takes part in drafting of the new base agreement between the Russian Federation and the European Union. We plan the agreement will contain a core chapter on settlement of emergency situations and on humanitarian aid,” Puchkov said.

Georgieva stressed the participation of EMERCOM in the work on the new agreement was correct, as it is important to improve cooperation not only in civil protection, but also in emergency situations.

Puchkov said the cooperation between EMERCOM and the EU had achieved a new level.

“EMERCOM supports the EU’s initiative to adapt the administrative agreement on cooperation, mutual aviation assistance in emergency situations,” the minister said. he is sure the document will be ready and signed shortly.
