7,000 people evacuated from shopping mall in Volgograd over bomb threat

According to preliminary data, specialists with dogs have checked the premises

VOLGOGRAD, August 7 (Itar-Tass) —— About 7,000 people were evacuated on Tuesday from a shopping mall in Russia’s southern city of Volgograd over a bomb threat, a spokesman for local police said.

“A shopping mall security officer called the police to report an unidentified explosive device at 18:19 Moscow time,” the spokesman said. The police cordoned off the shopping mall. People were evacuated, traffic along the adjacent streets was stopped.

According to preliminary data, specialists with dogs have checked the premises. No explosive devices were found.
