ULAN-UDE, July 16 (Itar-Tass) — Over 30,000 people in Russia’s Baikal Region were left without electricity after a failure in a power transmission line.
LEP-110 power transmission line stretching over 66 kilometers knocked out power as a result of failure, the regional emergencies department told Itar-Tass.
Twenty-six schools, 20 kindergartens and two orphan asylums remained without light.
“There is no threat to life and health of people,” the source said. “Three rescue teams are repairing the power transmission line to restore electricity.”
