World Media Summit should be held more often - Zasurksy

Zasurksy pointed to high-level organization of the forum

MOSCOW, July 6 (Itar-Tass) — The World Media Summit should be organized as often as possible, Head of Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, Yasen Zasursky, told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“I think this is a useful and interesting forum, where different views are expressed, for instance, there were curious discussions about public television. I think it is necessary to hold it more often,” he said.

Zasurksy pointed to high-level organization of the forum. However, he admitted that it would be good to expand the summit’s agenda and put new themes for discussion.

“New countries, for instance North Korea and Iran, are invited to the forum. We have issues to discuss. Thus, the election campaigns are developing in some countries of Asia in a very interesting manner,” Zasursky said.

The World Media Summit organized by Itar-Tass news agency opened in Moscow on Thursday. It gathered an unprecedented number of delegates - over 300 top managers representing 213 media outlets from 102 countries.
