MINSK, June 26 (Itar-Tass) – A delegation of the State Duma, the lower house of Russian parliament, led by house speaker Sergei Naryshkin arrives on an official visit in Belarus Tuesday, the press service of Belarus’s National Assembly said.
“Members of the delegation are expected to have meetings with the speakers of both houses of /the Belarusian/ parliament – Vladimir Andreichenko of the House of Representatives and Anatoly Rubinov of the Council of the Republic,” the press release said. “Also, they will have a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich.”
The sides plan signing an agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation that will embrace the Russian and the Belarusian lower houses.
The two parliaments’ upper houses signed an agreement on cooperation at the beginning of the month when the speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko made a visit to Minsk.
Naryshkin will address the professors and students of the Academy of State Administration reporting to the President of Belarus.
The Russian delegation will take part in a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Russia-Belarus Union State. Apart from the members of the Assembly, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Unions State and officials from ministries and central agencies of power of the two countries.
The plenary session will consider reports of the Union State’s Council of Ministers on executing the budget for 2012, on implementation of a program for struggle with crime on the territories of the Union State’s constituent countries from 2008 through to 2012, and on the activity of the Union State Broadcasting Organization.
