MOSCOW, May 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian bikers, who were detained in Iraq, have returned to Moscow.
Their flight from Istanbul landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport at 22:28 local time.
Four travellers from St. Petersburg, Moscow and Tula were detained in Iraq on May 20 for violating visa rules and were held in prison for several days.
They were released on May 25.
The bikers could return home only now because the Iraqi authorities insisted that they Russians could leave the country only with valid exit visas.
“The bikers spent the last two days at the Russian Embassy in Iraq where they were provided with room and board, they could rest and communicate with their families,” the Foreign Ministry said.
