TAMBOV, May 24 (Itar-Tass) — Azerbajan and Georgia have agreed to submit a joint application for co-hosting the Euro-2020 football championship, Rovnag Abdullayev, the president of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan, told journalists in Baku on Thursday.
He said Azerbaijan and Georgia had decided to submit a joint Euro-2020 application after Azerbaijan dropped out of bidding to host the 2020 summer Olympic Games.
The decision was announced at the current FIFA congress in Budapest which is being attended by Elkhan Mamedov, the general secretary of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan.
