ULAN UDE, May 17 (Itar-Tass) — A Boeing airliner of the VIM-Avia company made an emergency landing in Chita on Thursday while on an Omsk-Vladivostok flight.
"A Boeing-757 airliner has landed at Chita airport for a technical reason," said the airport's management board member, emphasizing that noone was hurt. According to preliminary information, the incident was prompted by a crack in the windshield.
The Boeing airliner will stay in Chita until the morning of May 18, pending the delivery of the necessary reserve component.
"After the technical malfunction is rectified, the airliner will proceed on its flight to Vladivostok," the board member pointed out.
More than 200 passengers on the flight are being accommodated at the city's hotels. They are to be provided with meals.
