Medvedev appoints Vice Admiral Chirkov Navy Commander-in-Chief

The decree said Bondarev was relieved of his duties as first deputy commander-in-chief of the Russian Air Force

MOSCOW, May 6 (Itar-Tass) — In his decree on Sunday, President Dmitry Medvedev appointed Vice Admiral Viktor Chirkov as Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, the Kremlin press service reports.

The decree relieved Chirkov of his duties as Commander of the Russian Baltic Fleet. In the same decree the president relieved Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky of his duties as Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.
