KRASNOYARSK, April 27 (Itar-Tass) — The overall wildfire area in Siberian regions has been reduced by 553 hectares, a spokesman for the Siberian regional emergencies centre told Itar-Tass on Friday.
According to the spokesman, as many as 15 wildfires on an overall area of 1,925 hectares were registered by Friday morning, of which those on 1,717 hectares have been contained.
The most difficult situation is in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Now there are ten wildfires there on an overall area of 1,720 hectares, including three big fires on 1,566 hectares.
Three wildfires on 140 hectares were registered in the Omsk region. All of them have been contained. Two forest fires are active on 65 hectares in the Novosibirsk Region.
More wildfires can emerge in Siberia because of weather condition, except Northern territories, where the snow cover is still in place.
