KHABAROVSK, April 23 (Itar-Tass) —— The death toll in the fire in the village Tygda in the Amur Region reached two people. A woman, who was born in 1935, died of heavy burns at the hospital on Sunday, a source in the emergency situation department in the Amur Region told Itar-Tass on Monday. Another elderly woman was found dead under the debris of the burnt residential house before.

The emergency situation service reported that the wildfire destroyed 83 houses and over 40 other buildings in Tygda. Some 346 people, including 59 children, remained homeless.

Four firemen in the village lost their housing and property. They performed their duty, saving the settlement from the fire onslaught and did not leave the most dangerous zones, unless they put out the fire. Meanwhile, their houses burnt down.

All people, who remained homeless, were accommodated at their relatives, acquntainces or temporary accommodation centres. The homeless people are provided with free 3 daily hot meals and prime necessities. The emergency situation staff works in Tygda to clean up the aftermaths of the fire and help the fire-affected people. The regional authorities opened a special account at the bank for donations and clothes collecting stations. The regional authorities will begin to pay the compensations to the fire victims on Monday.

New houses will be built for all families, who lost housing in the fire, by next autumn, Governor Oleg Kozhemyako said at a meeting with Tygda residents.
