Georgia’s NATO aspiration is wrong since it doesn’t add to regional security

Collective Security Treaty Organization believes that the attempr to draw post-Soviet states into the alliance is wrong

MOSCOW, February 21 (Itar-Tass) —— The Georgian aspiration for integration with NATO is totally wrong and does not add to regional security, Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said on Tuesday.

“A mechanical enlargement of NATO is not the way to go,” he said. “The attempt to draw post-Soviet states into the alliance is an absolutely wrong direction.”

Bordyuzha recalled the activity of NATO's representatives in Ukraine when President Viktor Yushchenko was in office. “I do not think this policy adds to regional stability and security,” he said.
