MOSCOW, February 17 (Itar-Tass) —— A suspected killer of Rakhman Makhmudov (Neimark-Koen), a showman and Leps Bar art director, was detained, spokesman of the Russian Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The showman was found dead in his flat on the Leningradskaya Avenue on February 14. A criminal case was opened. “Forensic experts found that the death resulted from drowning. Bodily injuries were found on Makhmudov, including the fracture of the throat bones,” a source in the Moscow branch of the Investigation Committee said earlier.
“Today the detectives from the Savelovsky inter-district investigation department in the Investigative Committee together with the Moscow main Interior Ministry’s department detained a suspected killer of Makhmudov,” Markin said.
The suspected killer was interrogated. “His flat was searched through. Charges will be brought against him and he will be brought in custody today,” Markin said.
“An i-phone, an expensive wristwatch and a purse were stolen from Makhmudov’s flat,” a source in the law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass before.
