MOSCOW, January 24 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from Sudan.

A decree to this effect was signed on Tuesday after a United Nations mission ended its activity in that country. U.N. peacekeepers were sent to Sudan in compliance with United Nations Security Council resolution number 1997 dated July 11, 2011.

Russian servicemen have accomplished their peacekeeping mission with credit, says the presidential decree published on the website of the Russian head of state.
