MOSCOW, January 11 (Itar-Tass) — Vladimir Putin on Wednesday meets with representatives of public organizations of amateur and sport fishermen on the floor of the All-Russia Popular Front (popularly known for its Russian acronym ONF) to discuss the problem of the so-caled fee-paying fishing, the government press service of the Russian Federation has announced.
In December 2010, amendments were introduced to the Federal Law "On Fisheries and Conservation of Aqueous Biological Resources". The amendments made provision, in particuar, that amateur and sport fishermen at fishing plots might practise angling only on the strength of an agreement on the rendering of services on a paid basis. Thereby, a fee-paying nature of amateur and sport fishing at such plots was virtually introduced.
Andrei Krainiy, Director of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, will take part in the meeting. Representatives of the following public organizations have been also invited to the meeting with the Premier: the Russian Association of Public Organizations of Hunters and Fishermen, the Union of Fishermen interregional public organization, the Moscow Federation of Sport Fishing, the fishermen's Internet club FION, the Federal Union of Fishery Farms, the Opora Rossii (Support of Russia) all-Russia organization of small and medium-level entrepreneurship, the All-Russia fishery Internet-club Rusfishing.ru, as well as participants in a public discussion of the draft Law on Fisheries.
