MAKHACHKALA, January 9 (Itar-Tass) — Unidentified perpetrators have fired at the Loza stationary traffic police post on the 756th km of the Kavkaz (Caucasus) federal highway in the Kizil-Yurt district of Dagestan. Nobody was injured.

The republic’s Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass that the incident occurred at 01:55, Moscow time, Monday. Two cars and the post’s building were damaged. According to the source, six traffic police inspectors opened fire in return.

The Vulcan-3 interception plan has been activated. Criminal proceedings have been instituted under two articles of the RF Criminal Code “infringement on the life of a law enforcement officer” and “Illicit trafficking in arms and ammunition.”
