MOSCOW, December 4 (Itar-Tass) —— The United Russia Party has won at the elections to the State Duma in 2011, but gained less than 50% of votes, the exit poll of the Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM) said.
Four parties: United Russia (48.5%), the Communist Party (19.8%), Just Russia (12.8%) and the Liberal Democratic Party (11.42%) were elected in the sixth State Duma, the VCIOM exit poll showed. Other parties failed to clear the 7% election hurdle.
The same four parties were elected to the State Duma in 2007, but if United Russia gained a lower percentage of votes in 2011 (United Russia gained 64.3% of votes in 2007 that allowed the party to form the constitutional majority in the parliament), other three parties polled a higher percentage in their support.
