BAKU, November 15 (Itar-Tass) —— The European Union views necessary the pressure on Iran so that it respects its nuclear commitments, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton told a Tuesday press conference in Baku.
The EU urges Iran to hold negotiations and to show respect for its nuclear commitments, she said, noting that the latest report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) caused a profound concern of Europe.
The issue was discussed by 27 EU foreign ministers on Monday. The ministers expect Iran to honor its commitments and think that certain pressure is necessary, so sanctions are possible, she said.
