MOSCOW, October 18 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Audit Chamber Chairman Sergei Stepashin suggests setting up an agency in Russia for control over state purchases, similar to that of the United States.
Speaking on Tuesday at the meeting of the State Duma budget committee, Stepashin emphasized that it was very important to establish control over state defence orders.
The chief auditor attaches great importance to a law on the federal contract system and hopes such a law may be adopted until the end of 2011.
At the meeting of the budget committee, which on Tuesday discussed the draft federal budget for 2012-2014, Stepashin also spoke about the need to accelerate the work on programmes for pension system development and measures to change the loan policy for real sectors.
