Money transfers from RF to Uzbekistan exceed $1 bln in April-June 2011

In the period under review, total transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan went up by 67.78 percent

TASHKENT, October 10 (Itar-Tass) —— Total amount of money transfers between Russia and Uzbekistan increased by 65.6 percent in April-June 2011, as compared to the same period of 2010, and reached 1.141 billion U.S. dollars, local mass media quoted the report of the Central Bank of Russia.

In April-June 2010, the index amounted to 689 million U.S. dollars.

In the period under review, total transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan went up by 67.78 percent from 636 million U.S. dollars to 1.067 billion U.S. dollars. Herewith, a transfer operation worth increased from 537 U.S. dollars in April-June 2010 to 566 U.S. dollars in the same months of the current year.

Uzbekistan is the leader among former Soviet republics and members of the Commonwealth of the Independent States (CIS) over the amount of money transfers from Russia.
