MOSCOW, September 23 (Itar-Tass) —— State Duma Vice-Speaker, former member of A Just Russia Alexander Babakov will run for the State Duma with United Russia. The decision was made at the party congress on Friday.
Any citizen unaffiliated to a party has the right to take part in the State Duma election on the party’s ticket in the case he or she complies with a number of procedures and is recommended by the party’s local organization. The Tambov organization of United Russia recommended the nomination of Babakov.
Babakov announced his withdrawal from A Just Russia and joined the Russian Popular Front on July 29. He said he would take part in the primaries of United Russia and the Popular Front. A Just Russia initiated his dismissal from the vice-speaker’s position on September 22.
