Twenty six kids among 38 missing after Russian shopping mall fire
Kemerovo is observing three days of mourning on March 27-29
KEMEROVO, March 27. /TASS/. The Kemerovo regional administration has published a full list of people missing after the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping mall fire, as well as of those hospitalized. The list is available on the administration’s website.
The list of those missing includes 38 people, 26 of them children, while the age of two people is not specified. Another 13 kids are on the list of 25 victims who have already been identified, the age of one victim is not listed.
A total of 69 people, including 24 children and one emergency worker, are on the list of those hospitalized. However, there is no indication as to how many of them still remain in the hospital.
As TASS reported earlier citing Kemerovo Region Deputy Governor Sergei Tsivilev, authorities pledged to make full information about fire victims publicly available soon.
Kemerovo shopping mall fire
A catastrophic blaze broke out on the top floor of the Zimnyaya Vishnya (or Winter Cherry) four-story shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo on March 25, which eventually engulfed an area of 1,500 square meters. According to recent reports, the blaze killed 64 people in all, while more than 60 injured requested medical assistance.
Kemerovo is observing three days of mourning on March 27-29. Flags are flying at half-mast, all entertainment events have been cancelled throughout the region.
