US imposes sanctions against Russian prosecutor general’s son Artem Chaika
All in all, the list includes 13 individuals
WASHINGTON, December 21./TASS/. The US imposes sanctions against the son of Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika, Artem, within the framework of the so-called Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act, says a report posted on Thursday on the website of the US Department of the Treasury.
It says restrictions have been imposed after US President Donald Trump’s issuing a new Executive Order on December 20, 2017 Blocking the Property of Persons Involved in Serious Human Rights Abuse or Corruption.
A press release of the US Department of the Treasury said Artem Chaika "has leveraged his father’s position and ability to award his subordinates to unfairly win state-owned assets and contracts and put pressure on business competitors".
All in all, the Specially Designated Nationals List includes 13 individuals. Yuri Chaika’s son Artem is the only Russian national on the list.
