Kyrgyzstan determined to boost relations with Russia
China remains an important strategic trading and economic partner as well
BISHKEK, November 27. /TASS/. Kyrgyzstan is determined to enhance cooperation with Russia, the country’s new president, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, who took office on November 24, told TASS in an interview.
"We are going to enhance relations of alliance with Russia - Kyrgyzstan’s main strategic partner. China, too, remains an important strategic trading and economic partner," he said.
Bishkek plans to enhance "neighborly and mutually beneficial relations" with all countries in Central Asia on the principles of "mutual respect and non-intervention in each other’s internal affairs."
"Of course, we will go ahead with cooperation with the European partners, in particular, in such matters as the strengthening of parliamentarianism and implementation of the national program of digital transformation Taza Koom (Transparent Society)," Zheenbekov said. Also, Kyrgyzstan is determined to "step up diversified cooperation with strategic and traditional partners on the bilateral basis and within the CIS, SCO, CSTO and EAEU."
He believes that the situation in the world "is getting more complex with every passing year", which is an effect of the world economy’s slowdown and upsurge in international terrorism and religious extremism.
"Growing globalization and integration processes, too, make amendments to the nature of inter-state relations, which begin to complement each other," he said.
