Casualties present as result of London Bridge incident - BBC citing police
According to Daily Telegraph up to 20 people have reportedly been struck by a van
LONDON, June 4. /TASS/. Several people died on Saturday as a result of an incident on the London Bridge, BBC TV Channel reported on Sunday citing police.
"Police confirm more than one fatality after incident at London Bridge," the TV Channel said.
Police said "it has responded to three separate incidents at London Bridge, Borough Market and Vauxhall," Sky News TV Channel reported.
It was reported earlier a van hit pedestrians in the London Bridge area and an attack with use of cold arms was made in the Borough Market area located nearby.
"Prime Minister Theresa May has said the "terrible incident" in London is being treated as a "potential act of terrorism," BBC reported on its website. The Prime Minister will chair the government's emergency committee COBRA on Sunday morning, the TV Channel said.
According to Daily Telegraph three individuals staged an attack in the London Bridge area.
"London Bridge has been placed on lockdown amid reports of three men carrying knives attacking people," the newspaper said. Up to 20 people have reportedly been struck by a van, the newspaper reported.
The police initiated large-scale evacuation of people from buildings in the radius of 1.5 km from the London Bridge, particularly from the Globe Theater, Daily Telegraph said.
