US missile strikes at Syrian base result in deaths — SANA

BEIRUT, April 7. /TASS/. Syria’s authorities confirm that the US has delivered missile strikes at a military base in central Syria, the SANA news agency reported.
"One of our military bases in the central part (of the country) came under a missile strike this morning from the US, and as a result there are deaths," a Syrian military source told the news agency.
On Thursday, the US military launched a total of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Shayrat Airfield in Homs governorate, Pentagon Spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said.
The strike came in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in the Syrian province of Idlib on April 4. Reuters earlier reported citing the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that 58 people, including 11 children, were killed there.
The US leadership believes the alleged chemical attack had been carried out from the Shayrat Airfield.
