DNA testing needed to identify 4 casualties of St. Petersburg metro terror attack
Identities of ten people have been established so far, according to the Investigative Committee
MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. DNA testing will be required to identify four of the victims of Monday’s terrorist act in St. Petersburg metro, the Investigative Committee of Russia said on Tuesday.
It published a list of the victims at its website. Identities of ten people have been established to date.
"Visual identification of another four dead appears to be impossible and that’s why DNA testing is required," the report said.
An explosive device of an unknown type detonated at around 14:40 Moscow Standard Time on Monday inside a train heading from Tekhnologichesky Institute to Sennaya Square station.
The Investigative Committee described the incident as a terrorist act. The Russian Healthcare Ministry says fourteen people died as a result of the attack and another 49 people are getting medical treatment in hospitals.
