Latest North Korea's missile launch targeted US bases in Japan — media
In line with the DPRK news media practice, the launch was announced a day after it had taken place
SEOUL, March 7. /TASS/. Monday’s launch of North Korean ballistic missiles targeted U.S. military bases in Japan, the South Korean news agency Yonghap said quoting a report by the KCNA, the official news agency of the DPRK.
The launch was conducted by Hwasong artillery units of the Strategic Force of the Korean People’s Army, "tasked to strike the bases of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in Japan," the KNCA said.
In line with the DPRK news media practice, the launch was announced a day after it had taken place.
According to Yonghap, the KCNA said North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who supervised the exercise, ordered the units to be fully ready to open fire to annihilate the enemies once the ruling Workers' Party of Korea gives the order.
Of the four ballistic missiles that flew about 1,000 km, three landed in Japan’s exclusive economic zone.
This was a second missile launch in the DPRK this year. On February 12, the country launched a new intermediate ballistic missile.
