Members of bandit underground detained in Dagestan
One of the militants was killed in retaliatory fire
MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. Participants in a so-called "sleeping" unit of bandit underground, related to the Islamic State (terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) were detained on Sunday, the National Anti-Terror Committee said.
"The group united four residents of (the North Caucasus') Dagestan, who plotted crimes against authorities and law enforcers," the Committee's information center said.
The law enforcers received information one of the militants was in a house in Buinakskaya Street in Derbent. The house was blocked, nearby civilians were evacuated. The militant was killed in retaliatory fire, three others were detained in other houses.
"We have information, they all were members of a so-called sleeping unit, having relations with IS, and had been involved in attacks on the locals," the Committee said.
No losses among the servicemen or civilians have been reported. Investigation and search are under way.
