ASTANA, February 17. /TASS/. Several dozens of Syrian opposition groups want to join the ceasefire in Syria, said Alexander Lavrentyev, the Russian president’s special envoy on Syrian reconciliation.
"Another several dozens of groups, including those active within the so-called southern front, are willing to join the process and sign a ceasefire agreement. If it happens, it will indeed be a step forward," said Lavrentyev, who heads the Russian delegation at the Syrian talks in the Kazakh capital Astana.
"It is clear that the information regarding events in southern Syria should be treated with caution," the diplomat added.
