Turkish foreign minister says ready to meet with Putin

If Vladimir Putin considers it "appropriate", the Turkish top diplomat is ready for such a meeting

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin if Putin considers this appropriate.

"If President Putin considers it appropriate, we are ready for such a meeting," Cavusoglu said after arriving to Moscow to participate in the trilateral meeting Russia-Iran-Turkey on Tuesday, December 20.

A gunman opened fire at the Russian diplomat at the opening of the photo exhibition "Russia from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka in the eyes of a traveler" in Ankara on Monday. Russian Foreign Ministry’s official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Karlov died from the injuries. She said Moscow considers this as a terrorist attack.

Cavusoglu arrived in Moscow on Monday to participate in trilateral talks between Russia, Iran and Turkey on the situation in Syria on Tuesday.
