President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz pointed out that EU’s defense and security policy should be decided in Brussels

BRUSSELS, December 15. /TASS/. The EU sanctions against Russia will remain until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented, President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz said at a press conference on the sidelines of the European Union summit.

"Sanctions will remain until the Minsk agreements are fully implemented, there is no doubt about that," he said.

"Many people have recently been looking at the appeals launched by Washington to remove sanctions against Russia. We in the parliament believe that EU’s defense and security policy should not be decided in the capital of a non-EU state but here in Brussels," Schulz added.

This is the last EU summit Schulz is attending as the President of the European Parliament.
