Damascus in close contact on military planning with Moscow and Tehran
Final decision on the fate of other besieged Syrian cities will be made once the city of Aleppo has been liberated, Assad stressed
MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. After Aleppo is free, Damascus will draw up plans for liberating other Syrian cities in coordination with Moscow and Tehran, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said in an interview with Russia’s Rossiya 24 TV channel on Wednesday.
"The [liberation] plan will be drawn up in coordination with Russian military command which has been assisting us in this struggle, as well as with Iran’s leadership," Assad stated.
However, the Syrian president did not elaborate which city was going to be liberated next.
"It depends on the number of terrorists receiving logistics assistance from abroad. At the moment, there is a direct communication channel between Aleppo and Idlib since there are Jabnat al-Nusra (terrorist group outlawed in Russian) members in Aleppo as well as in Idlib. The final decision will be made after Aleppo is free," the Syrian president said.
