Over 98% of Aleppo’s territory under government forces control — Russian Defense Ministry
The Syrian troops have liberated another 11 quarters of eastern Aleppo
HMEIMIN, December 13. /TASS/. The Syrian army has taken control over 98% of Aleppo’s territory, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of opposing sides said in a statement on Tuesday.
"In the past 24 hours, the Syrian troops have liberated another 11 quarters of eastern Aleppo. Thus, Syrian government now controls over 98% of the territory of Aleppo, the total area of the eastern Aleppo’s quarters where militants still remain, is no more than three square kilometers," the statement reads.
According to the Center, since the operation to free Aleppo began, Russian officers have evacuated over 110,000 civilians including 44,367 children from the eastern part of the city. More than 7,000 civilians have returned to their homes in the liberated quarters form the western districts of the city.
Around 110,000 civilians including over 44,000 children, have been evacuated from the eastern part of Aleppo by Russian military officers since the Syrian army began the operation to free the city.
"Since the Syrian army began the operation to free Aleppo, the officers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of opposing sides have evacuated around 110,000 civilians including 44,367 children, from the eastern quarters of the city. More than 7,000 civilians have returned to their homes in the liberated quarters form the western districts of the city," the statement reads.
