On November 23, the European Parliament adopted a resolution "on EU strategic communication to counteract propaganda against it by third parties"

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatovic, has promised to speak against the legislative registration of the European Parliament resolution aimed at combating other countries’ propaganda, including Russia, Russian Ambassador to OSCE Alexander Lukashevich told Rossiya 24 TV channel in an interview broadcast on Monday.

On November 23, the European Parliament adopted a resolution "on EU strategic communication to counteract propaganda against it by third parties." The document was prepared by Polish MEP Anna Fotyga. The resolution of the European Parliament mentions Russian TV channel RT, Sputnik agency, Russkiy Mir (or Russian World) Foundation and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).

"She (Mijatovic) will very closely follow the situation. If any OSCE member country legislatively registers this resolution and will persecute Russian media, she will be the first to raise her voice against such practice," Lukashevich said.

Though the OSCE representative described the document as "excessively politicized," she did not condemn the actions of MEPs because, according to her, the European Parliament is a non-state structure, while she works only with OSCE member countries, the Russian diplomat noted.
