Pakistani plane with over 40 people on board crashes in northern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, December 7. /TASS/. A Pakistani International Airlines flight en route from Chitral to Islamabad has crashed in northern Pakistan, Geo TV reported on Wednesday citing the administration of the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad. The plane was carrying 47 passengers and crew members.
According to preliminary data, all people on board died. The local media reported that a famous Pakistani fashion designer and television star Junaid Jamshed was also among the passengers of the ill-fated flight.
According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) sources, the ATR-42 plane disappeared from the radar near Havelian. CAA sources confirmed a mayday call from the pilot shortly before communication with the plane was lost.
Some eyewitnesses reportedly saw a fire in the vicinity of the supposed crash site.
The Pakistani army command ordered to dispatch all necessary rescue forces to the area. Bad weather hinders the search of the plane.
A hotline to collect information about the accident began operating at Islamabad’s airport.
