General Staff reports Aleppo’s entire male population forcibly mobilized by terrorists
Russian general claims that terrorists are forcing all men, even teenage boys, to join the militants' ranks
MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. The entire male population in the Syrian city of Aleppo, including teenagers above 12 years of age, has been forcibly mobilized by militants, Head of the Main Operations Department at Russia’s General Staff Lieutenant-General Sergei Rudskoi said on Wednesday.
"The entire male population, including teenagers above 12 years of age, has been forcibly mobilized by militants. Regular intimidation actions against civilians are being held in the city," the general said.
According to the general, practically every day militants are publicly executing those who are trying to organize manifestations against terrorists or leave for neighborhoods controlled by government troops.
Militants in Aleppo have placed all food stocks under their control. Foodstuffs can be purchased only by those whose relatives are fighting on the side of militants, the Russian general said.
Rudskoi said the terrorists in Aleppo keep blowing up schools, hospitals and mosques to blame the results of their attacks on alleged strikes by Syrian warplanes and artillery.
"The social infrastructure (of Aleppo) has been totally ruined. Witnesses say terrorists have been mining and blowing up schools, hospitals and mosques. Photographs of the ruined buildings are then handed over to human rights activists and presented as proof of strikes by Syrian aircraft and artillery," Rudskoy said.
All testimonies by witnesses are put on record by the Russian center for reconciliation and the Syrian authorities.
Humanitarian assistance
More than 18,000 Aleppo residents have been able to leave the city thanks to a successful offensive launched by the Syrian army, Rudskoi said.
"Due to a successful offensive by the Syrian army, the armed groups' defensive position network has been broken. Thanks to this, more than 18,000 civilians have been able to leave Aleppo’s districts controlled by terrorists," he said.
According to Rudskoi, eight temporary accommodation centers have been deployed for them.
"Sick and wounded people get the necessary medical aid and are provided with hot meals," he added.
Rudskoi noted that the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria had delivered field kitchens and dozens of tonnes of food and drinking water for Aleppo residents.
Terrorists leave Aleppo
Rudskoy said that nearly 650 militants have left eastern Aleppo over the recent days and 630 out of them have already been granted amnesty.
"Realizing a lack of prospects in the further resistance, militants are leaving eastern districts of Aleppo. In recent days, 647 members of illegal armed units have left the city, whereas 630 out of them have been granted amnesty and set free. Checks are underway with regard to the 17 others," the general said.
