According to German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, even if Syrian government forces regain control over the whole of Aleppo, that will not end the conflict

BERLN, November 29. /TASS/. Germany is calling for the normalization of the humanitarian situation in Syria’s Aleppo and is going to discuss the issue with Russia during a meeting of the "Normandy Four" foreign ministers in Minsk, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said speaking at the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum on Tuesday.

"I believe we will use the talks in Minsk with the Russian side to make sure that there is an opportunity to send humanitarian aid there (to Aleppo - TASS) within the next few days," he said.

Steinmeier voiced the conviction that, even if Syrian government forces regain control over the whole of Aleppo, that will not end the conflict. "I do not share this hope," the minister said. "The conflict will not stop because of what is currently happening on the battlefield in eastern Aleppo," he said.
