45 ceasefire violations reported in Syria in past day — Russian reconciliation center
Reconciliation agreements were signed during the day with representatives of three settlements in Syria, including two in the province of Latakia and one in the province of Hama
MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. A total of 45 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups were reported during the day in Syria, including 24 in the province of Aleppo, 13 in the province of Damascus, three in the province of Hama, two in the province of Latakia, two in the province of Daraa, and one in the province of al-Quneitra, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its regular daily bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry’s official website on Monday.
"In the province of Damascus, armed groups of the Jaysh al-Islam organization which affiliates itself with the opposition shelled from mortars and firearms the area near the al-Abbasyyin stadium in the settlement of Jobar. Ahrar al-Sham militants conducted mortar fire at the settlement of Rashah in the province of Latakia and Aleppo’s district of Sheikh Hasr," the center said.
Armed groups of the Free Syrian Army shelled from multiple missile launcher systems and mortars Aleppo’s districts of Al-Masharqa and Hai al-Ansari, and from artillery systems — the settlement of Sandran in the province of Latakia.
No air strikes were delivered by the Russian air group and the Syrian air force at armed opposition group which have declared cessation of hostilities and informed the Russian or US reconciliation centers about their locations, as follows from the bulletin.
Reconciliation of conflicting parties
"Reconciliation agreements were signed during the day with representatives of three settlements in Syria, including two in the province of Latakia and one in the province of Hama. The number of settlements joining the reconciliation process has reached 1,003," the center said.
Talks on joining the regime of cessation of hostilities were continued with field commanders of illegal armed groups in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and al-Quneitra. The number illegal armed groups that declared their commitment to the ceasefire terms remains unchanged — 86, the Russian center said.
Humanitarian assistance
Efforts are continued to relieve the humanitarian situation in Syria. Three humanitarian operations were conducted during the day. About seven tonnes of humanitarian cargoes were delivered to the settlement of Jirbin in the province of Aleppo; a total of 2.5 tonnes were delivered to the settlement of Asili in the province of Hama; and about one tonne of humanitarian cargoes was delivered to the settlement of Kafer Abda in the province of Homs.
Hot meals and living essentials distribution outlets are open for civilians leaving Aleppo’s neighborhoods controlled by illegal armed groups, as follows from the bulletin.
Russian reconciliation center
The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeymim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
