Terrorists in Aleppo use chlorine against civilians — Russian Defense Ministry
The West, however, does not seem to notice it, according to the Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman
MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Terrorists in Aleppo are using chlorine against Syrian troops and civilians ever more frequently but the West does not notice it, Igor Konashenkov said during a Monday briefing.
"Terrorists in Aleppo are using chlorine against Syrian servicemen and civilians ever more frequently. However, none of the politicians care publicly about Aleppo in France and especially in Great Britain, they seem not to notice these crimes. To be more precise, they want to see only Syrian authorities as the culprits," Konashenkov said.
The Russian Defense Ministry is again urging the leadership of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to send its experts to Aleppo, the spokesman said.
"We’re turning to the leadership of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to send representatives of a fact-finding mission to Aleppo as soon as possible for the joint work with the experts of the Defense Ministry of Russia. We expect to see among these OPCW representatives experts for work with chemical agents, first of all, rather than politicized humanitarians for preaching," Konashenkov said.
The terrorists used chemical weapons in eastern Aleppo on Sunday evening, the spokesman said.
As many as 30 Syrian servicemen were poisoned. Russian specialists have established that a self-made bomb was stuffed with chlorine.
Earlier, Russian experts already registered the instances of the use of chemical weapons by militants. Russia’s Defense Ministry turned to the OPCW with a request to send its experts to Aleppo and confirm the use of dangerous chemical substances on November 11.
