MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Iceland’s Pirate Party has won 13.4% of votes at early parliamentary election held on Saturday, Reuters reported on Sunday citing preliminary results.
The Independence Party has come first with 30% of votes, followed by the Left-Green Movement with 17.1%. It is too early to talk about final results or possible party coalitions in the parliament.
It was earlier reported that according to exit polls, the Pirate Party may count on 12 mandates in the 63-seat unicameral parliament, the Althing. The Pirate Party ran in the election for the first time in 2013. It barely overcome the five-percent hurdle and got three seats in the parliament.
